Who Was Tony Hughes?

According to the Netflix biopic, his disability made him struggle to find a job – eventually ending up in clothing stores, where he used sign language to communicate with his manager.

Hughes also identified as gay and was a regular at gay bars.

What happened to him?

Anthony Hughes met serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in May 1991 at a Milwaukee gay bar.

Dahmer was a regular and had previously lured his victims with promises of sex and sexual favors.

According to the sources, Hughes, then 31, agreed to go home with Dahmer.

It is believed that upon written request, Dahmer had suggested a nude photo shoot.

Once inside, Dahmer drugged him and then strangled him to death.

His body was reportedly dissolved in acid, with Dahmer keeping his skull.

Who were Jeffrey Dahmer’s other victims?

In all, Dahmer, known as the “Milwaukee Monster,” slaughtered at least 17 young men and boys between 1978 and 1991.

He even cannibalized some of them – keeping body parts as souvenirs, including skulls and genitals.

The men were all young and between 14 and 32 years old.

Many of them, like Hughes, were gay ethnic minorities.

His victims included:

  • Steve Hicks, 18
  • Stefan Tuomi, 25
