Who was Samantha Miller?
North Carolina native Samantha Miller tied the knot with Aric Hutchison at a beautiful reception in Folly Beach, South Carolina on April 28, 2023.
But horror spread when the young bride was killed after Jamie Lee Komoroski, accused of driving more than twice the speed limit, crashed into a golf cart carrying her and Aric from their wedding reception.
The golf cart – decorated with a “Just Married” sign – was thrown 100 yards and overturned several times.
Photos from the scene showed the extent of the damage, showing the golf cart “tattered” while the Toyota’s hood was also crumpled from the impact.
The fatal accident left Hutchinson with a brain injury and multiple broken bones, requiring him to undergo reconstructive surgery.

Benjamin Garrett and his nephew Brogan Garrett of Morgan, Utah, had been with Aric and Sam and were both injured in the collision.
Brogan has since been released from the hospital.

Police in South Carolina said 25-year-old Jamie Lee Komoroski was behind the wheel of the vehicle that collided with the golf cart.
Data from her engine obtained by police showed she was driving at 65 mph in a 25 mph zone – and hit the brakes shortly before the fatal crash.
She had allegedly been drinking heavily throughout the day and had consumed a mixture of beer, tequila and several other spirits.
When police tested her blood alcohol level, authorities said it was more than three times the legal limit.

Komoroski was charged with one count of drunk driving resulting in death, two counts of drunk driving causing serious bodily injury and one count of involuntary manslaughter.
She was arraigned Wednesday, nearly five months after the tragedy.

Meanwhile, during a prison visit in May, Komoroski was heard complaining to her parents that “her whole life is going to be over” and asking why “this happened to me.”
In response, her father told her to “hang in there” and “get tough.”
The defendant responded that she couldn’t wait for this to be over.
