Who Was Robert Black’s Victim Caroline Hogg?

CAROLINE HOGG was just five years old when she was brutally murdered by serial killer Robert Black.
She was the youngest known victim of the pedophile killer.
Who Was Robert Black’s Victim Caroline Hogg?
Caroline Hogg was a five-year-old schoolgirl who went missing outside her home.
The little girl had attended a friend’s birthday party on the day of her disappearance.
After telling her parents that she was going out to play one night, she never returned.
Where did Caroline Hogg live?
Caroline lived with her family in Portobello, Edinburgh.
The coastal suburb, famous for its beach, is located five kilometers east of the center of the Scottish capital.
What happened to Caroline Hogg?
Caroline disappeared near her home on Beach Lane when she was just five years old.
On July 8, 1983, the little girl went to the Portobello Promenade to play and told her parents, Annette and John Hogg, that she would be home soon.
They asked her to be gone for five minutes but she never came back.
Ten days after her disappearance, Caroline’s body was found in a ditch off the M1 in Leicestershire.
Witnesses last saw Caroline on the carousel at the Fun City fairground in Portobello.
After it stopped, she was seen walking off with a “shabby looking” man.
Children who played with Caroline before she headed to the promenade said a man who “needed a shave” watched them play at nearby Towerbank school.
Another witness said they also saw a “strange man” walking in the same direction as Caroline before she disappeared.
Caroline’s family, meanwhile, said their daughter had been repeatedly warned about “bad men” before she was kidnapped.
Her father said in a statement at Black’s trial, “I can only believe that she was lured away by someone who could gain her trust because under normal circumstances she would not have walked away with someone she didn’t know.”
When poor Caroline’s body was found, police linked her death to the murder of Susan Maxwell, who had been murdered a year earlier.
Susan, who was 11 when she died, went missing near her family home in the village of Cornhill-on-Tweed.
Her body was later found over 200 miles away near Uttoxer.
After Robert Black was arrested for the attempted murder of another student in 1990, police began connecting his horrific crimes.
He was subsequently found guilty in May 1994 of murdering Caroline, Susan and another schoolgirl, Sarah Harper.
Black was also convicted of the murder of Jennifer Cardy in 2011 – 30 years after her death in 1981.

Evil killer Black died in 2016 while serving 12 life sentences.
He is believed to be responsible for the deaths of many other young girls, although he has never been formally charged with more than four murders.
