Who was Ricky Shiffer?

Ricky Shiffer is the suspect in the attack on the FBI headquarters in Cincinnati. He was reportedly hiding in the cornfields of rural Ohio until police officers fatally shot him.

The suspect was the only person injured in the standoff.

A spokesman for the Ohio State Patrol said Shiffer was allegedly killed by gunfire around 3 p.m. Thursday after pointing his gun at an officer.

The patrol spokesman also said that all other non-lethal tactical methods were used to extract Shiffer without resorting to lethal force.

What happened at FBI headquarters in Cincinnati?

On the morning of August 11, the suspect attempted to break through the visitor security perimeter of the FBI’s Cincinnati office.

The suspect sounded an alarm and was confronted by agents, after which he ran and drove away.

During the drive, he shot the police officers following him and led them to a rural area outside of Cincinnati, where they held a standoff for almost five hours.

At around 3 p.m., the suspect reportedly raised a gun and was shot dead by police.

Threats against government agencies like the FBI have increased in the days since the raid on former President Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

What is Mar-a-Lago?

Mar-a-Lago has been Trump’s new permanent address since leaving the White House in January 2021.

It is a members-only club in Palm Beach, Florida that Trump bought in 1985 for approximately $10 million.

It has 126 rooms and is the second largest mansion in Florida.
