Who Was Nikki Grahame?

Nikki Grahame was born on April 28, 1982 in Watford, England.
She rose to fame after entering the Big Brother house for Series 7 in 2006 where she placed 5th.

As an adolescent, she developed anorexia and was admitted to psychiatric hospitals at age 12 after being suicidal.

After her first appearance in Big Brother, she got her own reality show, Princess Nikki, which ran for six episodes.

Nikki has returned to BB four times – Ultimate Big Brother in 2010, as a “Time Warp” housemate in 2015, Canadian Big Brother in 2017 and she returned to the UK version in 2018 after announcing it would be the last series to air would be on channel 5.

Over the course of her life, Nikki published two autobiographies – Dying to Be Thin and Fragile – both of which chronicle her battle with anorexia nervosa.

What Was Nikki Grahame’s Cause of Death?

On March 19, 2021, Nikki checked into a private hospital to treat her eating disorder after her desperate friends managed to raise more than £65,500 to start paying for life-saving care.

Her friends said at the time that the specialist clinic was her “last hope”.

Nikki’s mum Sue appeared on This Morning and said her daughter’s health battle was sparked when gyms were closed during lockdown as the star was afraid of eating out when she couldn’t work out.

She said: “With Covid it sounds crazy but things like gym closures have had an impact on her.

“In order for her to eat she needs to know she can exercise so when they closed it was quite a concern, including the isolation.

“I asked her if she would come and stay with me, but she said she has to be at her house.”

“She was (suffering from incurable loneliness), she felt very cut off and spent too much time alone with not enough to think about anything other than food.

“Everything came to an abrupt halt. She tormented herself through the year for Nikki, too, because she knew she had friends abroad and she would visit them.

“She spent a lot of time last year canceling holidays.”

Nikki has always been open about her battle with anorexia since she rose to fame in 2006’s Big Brother and released 2009’s autobiography Dying To Be Thin.

She had battled the disease since childhood and was first admitted to a psychiatric hospital at the age of 12 following a suicidal bid.
