Jett Travolta was the eldest son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston, who died in 2009 at the age of 16.
Jett was born in 1992 and has had seizures since he was two years old.
He had also been hospitalized with Kawasaki disease at the age of 15 months and was on the autism spectrum.
Jett was the eldest of three children and had a sister, Ella Bleu, and a brother, Benjamin, who was born after the death of his older sibling.
How did Jett Travolta die?
In January 2009, Jett died while vacationing in the Bahamas with his parents and younger sister.
He suffered a seizure after hitting his head on a bathtub.
Parents Travolta and Kelly had celebrated New Year’s Eve at the luxurious Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island.
Jett is said to have been found unconscious by a maid, who then sounded the alarm.
Father John was initially suspected of misconduct in the treatment of his son.
The actor claimed he was blackmailed by Tarino Lightbourne, the ambulance driver who was called to attend to his son, and his attorney, Pleasant Bridgewater.
In a $25 million extortion case, Lightbourne and Tarino have been accused of demanding money from him Travolta and threatening to release evidence of Travolta’s alleged misconduct to the media.
However, the process ended in mistrial following a mistake by a Barbadian politician who pre-empted the outcome of the process before it was actually achieved.
Eleven years after Jett’s death, the Grease star shared a touching photo to celebrate his son’s 28th birthday.
In 2009, they established the Jett Travolta Foundation, a charity that partially funds help and support for children with special needs.
