William Elliott, born June 4, 1934, was an American actor and jazz musician from Baltimore, Maryland.

William had a recurring role on the CBS show Bridget Loves Bernie in the early 1970s.

He also had roles in the films Change of Habit, Coffy, and Night of the Lepus.

In the early to mid-1960s, William formed his own music group.

That’s how he met his future ex-wife, Dionne Warwick, who sang background vocals for the band.

Speaking of her marriage to William, Dionne recalled to The Guardian: “I was the main breadwinner in the family and that’s very difficult for the male ego.

“It just became too much for my husband and we decided it would be best for us to go our separate ways.”
