CHAOS erupted on the Las Vegas Strip after eight people were stabbed to death in early October.

Within minutes, Yoni Barrios was arrested by police and charged with carrying out the deadly attack, and now Americans want to know more about him.

Who is Yoni Barrios?

On October 6, 2022, at approximately 11:40 a.m. local time, eight people were stabbed to death with what authorities call a large kitchen knife while walking the Las Vegas Strip.

Police later named 32-year-old Barrios as a suspect and have since taken him into custody.

Details of Barrios’ private life are unclear at this time, but it has been reported that he is a Guatemalan citizen.

According to Fox News, Barrios has a criminal record in California and is in the United States illegally.

Aside from his alleged crimes, little information is available about his private life as he tends to stay out of the media.

What is Yoni Barrios accused of?

Details of the Las Vegas Strip stabbing are still unclear, but it is reported that Barrios allegedly started his killing spree after a group of showgirls refused to take a picture with him.

As a result, he began attacking people before being arrested by security forces and police officers, Fox News notes.

Six people were injured and two more died.

The deceased victims were later identified as Las Vegas residents Brent Allan Hallett, 47, and Maris Mareen DiGiovanni, 30.

According to Fox News, Barrios now faces two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder.

He appeared in court on October 7 and was ordered to be held without bail and is expected back in court next week.

“Our thoughts today are with the victims of this senseless attack on the Strip,” Clark County officials said in a statement.

“We are grateful for the quick response from our Clark County Fire Department, LVMPD and other first responders.”
