IN AUGUST 2023, it was reported that Truth Hurts singer Lizzo was charged with alleged sexual harassment at the hands of three of her former dancers.

Who is the dancer Arianna Davis?
Arianna Davis is a 24-year-old dancer from Indiana.
Since Davis was two years old, she has learned to dance in a variety of dance styles including ballet, hip-hop, musical theater, jazz, tap and many more.
In addition, in her Instagram bio, Davis describes her as a singer and actress in addition to being a dancer.
During the pandemic, Davis applied to be Lizzo’s dancer and submitted a video that went viral.
Lizzo’s team then approached the dancer and hired her to compete in the Watch Out for the Big Grrrls dance competition.
On June 24, 2023, Davis was hired as a dance instructor at Soho Dance Studio in Los Angeles.
Davis also runs her own Instagram thrift store called Thrifts by Ari.
Why is Lizzo suing her dancers?
On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, a complaint was filed against Lizzo and her production company, Big Grrrl Touring, Inc.
Three of Lizzo’s former dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez, are named as plaintiffs opposing the artist.
According to the ComplaintThey accused Lizzo of “sexual, religious and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault and false imprisonment.”
Plaintiffs’ attorney, Ron Zambrano, commented: “The amazing way Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems contrary to everything Lizzo publicly stands for, while privately she shames her dancers and demeans them in a way which it’s not.’ Just illegal, but utterly demoralizing.’
In addition, the complaint states that Lizzo allegedly coerced her dancers into attending a nude photoshoot during Lizzo’s dance competition show in Amsterdam.
Rodriguez resigned after the allegedly clustered incidents, saying, “Lizzo aggressively approached Ms. Rodriguez, cracking his knuckles and clenching his fists” and “feared that Lizzo intended to hit her and would have done so if one of the would not have interfered with other dancers.” according to the complaint.
Although Rodriguez’s decision to split was her own, they say Williams and Davis have been fired.

Who else was named in the complaint?
The complaint also named the captain of Lizzo’s dance team, Shirlene Quigley.
Plaintiffs alleged that while at work, Quigley preached Christianity and her views on premarital sex.
Additionally, the dancers accused Quigley of “sharing her masturbation habits and sex life too much with her husband.”
In another instance, Quigley allegedly flaunted a dancer’s virginity in interviews, on social media, and in the workplace.
