Who is Taylor Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift?

Andrea was born on January 10, 1958 in Pennsylvania to Robert Bruce Finlay and opera singer Marjorie Finlay.

Taylor, 33, wrote a song about her maternal grandmother called “Marjorie” on her ninth studio album, Evermore.

She has written several songs about her mother, including “The Best Day” from Fearless and “Soon You’ll Get Better” from Lover.

The couple tied the knot on February 20, 1988 in Harris County, Texas.

Andrea gave birth to Taylor on December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania, before giving birth to a son in 1992.

She and Scott raised their children on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania before moving to a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee, for the then-14-year-old Taylor’s budding country music career.

Taylor has spoken about how her mother supported her dreams.

In 2008, the singer-songwriter spoke to Weekly entertainment about flying to Nashville to distribute demo CDs, saying, “I brought my demo CDs of karaoke songs where I sound like a chipmunk – it’s pretty awesome – and my mom was waiting with my little brother in the car while I knocked on doors” and down Music Row.

“Thank you for caring enough about my family to want me to share this information with you.”

In a March 2019 essay for ElleTaylor revealed that Andrea’s cancer had returned, but also shared that her father had also battled the disease.

She wrote in part: “Both my parents had cancer and my mother is now battling it again.

“It taught me that there are real problems and then everything else. My mother’s cancer is a real problem.”

“I used to be very afraid of the daily ups and downs. Now I dedicate all my worries, stress and prayers to real problems.”

In a January 2020 interview with diversityTaylor shared that Andrea had been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

She said: “During her treatment a brain tumor was discovered.

“And the symptoms a person experiences when they have a brain tumor are nothing like what we have ever experienced before with their cancer. So it was just a really difficult time for us as a family.”

Despite her health issues, Andrea has continued to show her support for her daughter by attending several shows on the Eras Tour, according to People.

Who is Taylor Swift’s father Scott?

Scott Swift was born on March 5, 1952 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to parents Archie Dean and Rose Baldi Swift.

The 71-year-old is a financial advisor for The Swift Group under Merrill Lynch, according to People.

He started as a stockbroker before becoming vice president of Merrill Lynch.

When the Swift family moved to Nashville, Scott moved into their new home with The Swift Group, according to the outlet.

Like Andrea, Scott has supported Taylor’s music career and toured with her.

As People noted, the megastar took to MySpace in 2009 to share what it was like having his father around.

She wrote: “My dad is on this journey. He is a sociable person and loves touring. He loves it so much that he finds it absolutely hilarious to embarrass me as much as possible.”
