THE continues to search for a missing five-year-old girl who disappeared June 15 from Rogersville in Hawkins County, Tennessee.
Authorities are aggressively searching for Summer Moon-Utah Wells, in large numbers Ground search is underway on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
Who is Summer Wells and when did she go missing?
The Tennessee On November 30, the Bureau of Investigation announced they would search “overgrown areas that were previously difficult to access due to tall grass and dense foliage.”
Teams will navigate the Beech Creek area of Hawkins County.
According to police, Wells was last seen on June 15 outside her home in Beech Creek Community.
The Five years old is said to be wearing gray pants and a pink shirt with no shoes.
Investigators said she was 3 feet tall, weighed 40 pounds, had blond hair and blue eyes.
An Amber Alert was issued on Wednesday, June 16 for the missing toddler.
What did the authorities say about her disappearance?
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says Wells’ hair may now be shorter than some pictures are being circulated.
Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said on June 16 that more than 100 people from 19 agencies were searching the area. Wells was last seen.
Authorities encouraged Beech Creek residents to check any warehouses, crawl spaces or other potential hiding places and check for any surveillance cameras.
Authorities said they received more 1000 tips on where to stay in Wells.
Do authorities believe foul play is involved?
Police say the circumstances surrounding Wells’ disappearance remain unclear.
County Sheriff Hawkins Lawson said it was too early to say if there was any foul play involved in the toddler’s disappearance – but added that family members have cooperated.
“We’re going to keep going until we find Summer and sort this out,” Lawson said at a press conference.
Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding Wells’ whereabouts to come and call 911 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.
Summer Father, Don Wellswas arrested and jailed on February 7, 2022.
Don appeared at Hawkins County General Court that day, pleading guilty to driving under the influence.
Originally he was caught on DUI back in October 2021.
This is Wells’ first DUI, where the required minimum sentence is 48 hours in jail, 88 hours of community service, one year of license revoked, and a $350 fine.
