Who is starring in the Netflix drama?

We are approaching A jazzman’s blues release date and can’t believe our excitement! It’s Tyler Perry’s passion project that he’s been working on for a very long time and in just a few days everyone will finally be able to see it. In preparation for release, we’ve shared the cast list so you know who to expect in the film.

A jazzman’s blues is a Netflix Original Film written, produced and directed by creative genius Tyler Perry. In fact, the screenplay for the film was the first screenplay Perry had ever written. If you’re unfamiliar with Perry, he’s best known for his portrayal as the witty, street-wise, yet loving character Madea. He is also known for his shows and films House of Payne, Meet the Browns, Diary of a Crazy Black Woman, why did i get married, Good deeds, A fall from grace and A Madea homecoming.

Set in the 40’s deep south A jazzman’s blues tells a forbidden love story between two unhappy lovers. The story begins with the couple’s first meeting as teenagers and spans 40 years.

Joshua Boone and Solea Pfeiffer star as Bayou and LeAnne in the film. Both are fairly new to the entertainment industry. Boone is best known for his roles in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, seven seconds, Premature and Wheels. Pfeiffer is best known for her role as Eliza Hamilton in the acclaimed musical Hamilton. She also had small roles in the TV shows Curb your enthusiasm, scandal and The Good Fight.
