Who is Seamus Gray and when did he disappear?

21-YEAR-OLD Navy seaman Séamus Gray was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Base in the greater Chicago area before going missing in March 2023.

He never returned from a night out and now his family and police are asking for the public’s help to find him.

Who is Seamus Grey?

Seamus Gray, 21, is from Jupiter, Florida.

He is a US Navy firefighter recruit assigned to the station’s Surface Warfare Engineering School Command.

According to NBC 5, Séamus’ mother, Kerry Rodier Gray, spoke about him at a press conference on March 23, 2023, saying he lives for “his family, God and his country.”

She added that prior to his disappearance, she and Seamus typically spoke to each other “no less than 10 times a day.”

When did Seamus Gray disappear?

Séamus Gray was unable to return until lockdown after going out for drinks with friends on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2023.

He was reportedly last seen leaving the Ibiza Bar in Waukegan, Illinois.

Navy officers, local police and fire departments, and the Coast Guard have diligently searched for the Navy recruit, but have come up empty.

The Chicago Police Department released surveillance camera video on March 23 to draw attention to his disappearance.

In the pictures he can be seen in a red sweater.

Do the police have any clues as to where Séamus might be?

Séamus’ last video showed him just feet from the water in Waukegan Harbor.

Deputy Police Chief Brian Mullen said their efforts on Friday would focus on the water and on and around the naval base.

Kerry Gray spoke to CBS and told them there was video footage of someone trying to “steal her son” the night he was out, which led to an altercation with a group of people.

The manager of the bar Seamus confirmed this story that evening.

Mullen stated, “We are aware of the video outside the bar — and our investigators are working with NCIS to help identify individuals who may be in this video.”
