A MAN was arrested on October 28, 2022 in connection with a 2017 cold case.
Richard Allen was reportedly involved in the murder of two Indiana teenage girls nearly five years ago.
Who is Richard Allen and what does he have to do with the Delphi murders?
According to Fox 59 in Indianapolis, Richard Allen was allegedly arrested on Oct. 28 and sent to the Carroll County Jail.
The 50-year-old, who has reportedly been transferred to a government facility for his safety, is suspected of being involved in the deaths of Abigail Williams and Liberty German.
He is the first arrest related to the 2017 Cold Case killings.
According to the Kokomo Tribune, an Indiana State Police press conference will be held on October 31, 2022 at 10 a.m.
More information will be released by police Monday at the Delphi United Methodist Church.
What was Richard Allen allegedly arrested for?
Allen is allegedly a suspect in the 2017 murders of two Indiana teenage girls, multiple sources told WTTV.
However, Indiana State Police Sgt. Jeremy Piers told the Lafayette Journal & Courier Oct. 28 that he could confirm whether an arrest had been made in the case.
According to the outlet, “Indiana law requires that police release the identity of individuals who are arrested, as well as individuals who are detained in a jail or jail, within 24 hours of the arrest.
“The name, age and address of the person arrested and the crimes they are suspected of are required by law in order to be released.”
Officials are also investigating a fake social media account, @anthony_shots, believed to have interacted with one of the two teenage girls killed at the time. According to the New York Post, the catfish claimed to be a wealthy male model.
Police have previously investigated several others related to the case, including:
- Ron Logan – who owned the land where the girls’ bodies were found. He has since died.
- Kegan Kline – who was being investigated in connection with a child exploitation case. He was never charged.
Who are the murder victims at Delphi?
On February 13, 2017, 13-year-old Abigail “Abby” Williams and 14-year-old Liberty “Libby” German disappeared after being dropped off at the Delphi Historic Trails at approximately 1:00 p.m.
The girls were reported missing after failing to meet their parents at the agreed pickup location at 5.15pm that evening.
The latest shot of the teenagers appeared on Snapchat and showed a man following them in the background as they crossed the Monon High Bridge.
Police found the bodies of Williams and German around 12 a.m. the following day near Deer Creek, about half a mile from the Monon High Bridge.
The girls were reportedly found in a pool of blood.
On Friday October 29th, Kelsi German, Libby’s older sister, will tweeted: “Today is the day.”
More information about the case is expected to be released to the public on Monday.
