Former Proud Boys frontman Enrique Tarrio has been arrested and charged with plotting to attack the Capitol.
Tarrio is the second right-wing leader to be arrested and formally charged in connection with January 6 riots.

“My house, like 7 am, there are 20 people, in my house, talking about politics, copying each other, just to make fun of each other,” he said.
The outlet obtained the transcript from a 2014 federal court case where Tarrio’s undercover work was described and confirmed the story with a former prosecutor, Vanessa Singh Johannes.
Hankering Donald Trump Advocates, however, have said that he does not “recall” secret work.
“I don’t know any of this,” Tarrio, 36, told Reuters. “I don’t remember any of this.”

When was he arrested and charged?
A federal grand jury has charged Enrique Tarrio with plotting an attack on the Capitol in January 2021.
Based on New York TimesProsecutors said Tarrio told the Proud Boys to dress anonymously when they appeared at the Capitol on January 6 and engaged in a Telegram group chat during the chaos.
Although Tarrio was said to have given orders to other members of the Proud Boys, he was not present at the riot, having been arrested two days earlier.
In a press release issued on March 8, 2022, the Department of Justice said, “However, Tarrio continued to direct and encourage the Proud Boys before and during the events of January 6. 2021, and that he has declared recognition for what happened. on social media and in an encrypted chat room during and after the attack.”
The Washington Post reported in January 2021 that Tarrio was captured by Washington DC ordered officers charged him by burning a Black Lives Matter banner at a Black Church after a Pro-Trump rally in December 2020.
The judge barred Tarrio from Washington, DC on the day of the riots January 6 and he was charged with a misdemeanor charge of destruction of property in connection with the burning of a banner taken from Asbury United Methodist Church on 12 December.
He was also charged with two counts of possession of a high-powered loader.
Tarrio’s trial date has yet to be set and his attorney has not commented on the case.
