Who is Mathias Pogba?

Mathias Fassou Pogba, born August 19, 1990, is a Guinean professional footballer.

Born in Conakry, Guinea, the forward first rose through the youth ranks at Celta alongside his twin brother Florentin before joining Quimper, where he landed his first professional contract in 2009.

In September 2010, Pogba moved to the UK and joined Wrexham in the Conference National – after a successful trial the month before.

However, he opted to move away from Wrexham to play football at a higher level – which didn’t go down too well with club boss Andy Morrell.

He slammed Pogba’s handling of the situation, describing him as “disrespectful” to the club, having only informed them of his intention to leave the club 48 hours before the club’s pre-season began.

Mathias has since played professionally for a number of teams both inside and outside the UK during his 13 playing years.

In the UK he played for Wrexham, Crewe Alexander, Crawley Town and Partick Thistle.

Outside the UK, Mathias Pogba has spent limited time with Sparta Rotterdam, Tours, Manchego Cuidad Real, Lorca, Racing Murcia and Tabor Sezana.

He is currently playing in the 2021/22 season.

Footballer Paul Pogba has two siblings – twin brothers Floretin and Mathias.

All three brothers are professional footballers – Pogba currently plays at Juventus and Floretin plays as a defender for ATK Mohun Bagan FC.
