What happened to Olivia Pratt-Korbel?

On Monday 22nd August 2022, Olivia Pratt-Korbel was shot dead when a gunman broke into her home in Dovecot, Liverpool.

In a tragic turn of events, Olivia was not the intended target of the shooting but an innocent victim of a gun crime.

At around 10pm on Monday August 22, 2022, two men were walking down Kingsheath Avenue from the direction of Finch Lane – near Olivia’s family home.

The two men were approached by a single person wearing a black padded jacket, black peaked balaclava, dark trousers and black gloves.

In response to the sound of gunfire, Olivia’s mother, Cheryl, opened the door to her property to see what was going on outside.

As she did so, one of the men fleeing the gunfire noticed that the front door was open and approached it.

Despite her efforts to lock the front door, the man entered the home, followed by the gunman.

Nine-year-old Olivia was believed to be standing behind her mother when the gunman opened fire again, releasing a bullet that struck Cheryl in the wrist and Olivia in the chest.

Two more bullets were fired at the man who had forced his way into the house while the gunman continued to try to force his way in.

Just moments after the gunman fled the scene, a black Audi pulled up outside to take the injured man to the hospital.

Both Olivia and Cheryl were left in the doorway bleeding from their injuries.

The mother and daughter were taken to two separate hospitals for treatment of their wounds.

However, the injuries Olivia sustained were fatal and tragically led to her death.
