Michael Haley is an Ohio native and an officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard.

He met Nikki in 1989 while attending Clemson University.

The two married in September 1996 and have two children together, their son Nalin and their daughter Rena.

In January 2012, Haley was shipped to Afghanistan for a year-long tour of duty as a captain, serving in Helmand Province.

The unit served as the Agribusiness Development Team, helping Afghan farmers improve their techniques and develop cash crops to replace opium poppies.

Nikki previously vowed she would “never” face Donald Trump before their relationship fell apart.

In the days immediately after the attack, Nikki said in a speech to members of the Republican National Committee that Trump was “very wrong in what he said” at his Jan. 6 rally.

“And it wasn’t just his words. His actions since Election Day will be judged harshly by history.”

However, after Nikki publicly signaled her intention to run for the presidency in 2024, she reportedly got in touch with her former boss.

Trump welcomed the competition and encouraged her to go through with her bid for the White House.

He told reporters, “I’ve been talking to her for a while. I said, ‘Look, you know, if you want to run, go with your heart.’
