Who is Katie Bone from American Ninja Warrior?

Katie Bone is a 17-year-old athlete and high school student from Bernalillo, New Mexico.

Bone is well known for her involvement in the hit NBC series American Ninja Warrior.

In 2020, Bone competed in American Ninja Warrior Junior before taking part in season 14 of the original series.

Her determination and strength earned her a spot in the show’s national finals over the course of the season.

Bone ended her participation during the season in the first phase of the national finals when she fell at the fourth obstacle.

However, Bone was later called back to compete in the Women’s Championship, which aired in late May 2023.

On Monday, May 29, fans watched as Katie Bone took home the winning title and $50,000 in prize money after competing against twelve women.

In addition to winning the American Ninja Warrior Championship, Bone has been open about her battle with type 1 diabetes throughout the season.

During the competition, Bone said, “It’s not easy being a competitive athlete with Type 1. I fight my body every day.”

“I hope to inspire a young child to wear their pump on their arm. It makes everything you do even more amazing.”

Will Katie Bone Join American Ninja Warrior Season 15?

Katie Bone will not compete in the next season of American Ninja Warrior.

Bone recently competed in the US Women’s National Team Climbing Trials for the February 2023 Olympics, but unfortunately suffered a cruciate ligament tear.

Her mother, Tammy Bone, remembers the incident called: “Katie heard four pops. She tore her cruciate ligament and both sides of her meniscus.”

“It was a moment she’s been preparing for her entire life, and then it was put on hold…Now it’s at the point where we will do whatever it takes to help her heal stronger.”

Luckily, Katie has had surgery and is now focused on her recovery.

Although she may have taken a step back, she is still focused on achieving her goals.

“I don’t need easy, I just need possible,” Bone said.

What are the requirements to participate in American Ninja Warrior?

American Ninja Warrior takes applications each year to select who will appear in upcoming seasons of the show.

According to the American Ninja Warrior casting websiteParticipants must ensure they meet the requirements before applying.

These requirements include:

  • Entrants must be legal residents of the United States
  • Participants must be at least 15 years of age during the Regional Qualifiers
  • Must be in good health
  • Be available to participate in the Regional Qualifiers
  • Entrants must include a clear photo of themselves and a 2-3 minute video with their application
