JUSTIN THOMAS is looking to try and win his second PGA Championship this weekend.
He is cheered on from the stands by girlfriend Jillian Wisniewski, who was there when he clinched the title in 2017.
Who is Jillian Wisniewski?
Jillian was born in 1993 and graduated with a BA in Journalism from the University of Kentucky.
She worked for the university television department before taking up her current position as Production Business Manager at McGarry Bowen in Chicago.
Jillian was there in 2017 to see her boyfriend’s big Major win – but by a narrow margin.
She was due to be airborne at the time and depart before the end of the competition, but changed flights at the last minute following his exceptional performance.
Thomas said: “I really felt like I was going to win. I remember my girlfriend was due to leave around 7pm and I thought you need to change your flight to later, I just feel like I don’t want you to miss that. I have a feeling I’ll make it.”
How long has she been with Justin Thomas?
The couple have been together since 2016 and regularly update their social media activities.
Of course, Thomas travels extensively around the world, with Jillian now residing in Chicago.
What did Thomas do during the 2021 Tournament of Champions?
Thomas vented a homophobic slur on Jan. 9 after missing a short putt in the Hawaii event.
His swear words were picked up by microphones in the square.
Thomas is likely to be fined for conduct inappropriate for a professional, although the PGA Tour does not disclose punishment for conduct.
He would apologize and admit that his behavior was “inexcusable”.
He said: “First of all, I apologize. I am an adult
“I’m a grown man, there’s absolutely no reason for me to say such a thing. It’s terrible.
“I’m extremely embarrassed. It’s not who I am, it’s not the kind of person I am, or anything I do.
“Unfortunately I did and I have to admit it and I sincerely apologize.”
Thomas added: “It’s bad. It can not be said otherwise.
“I have to do better, I have to get better. It’s definitely a learning experience.
“I… I deeply apologize to anyone and everyone I have offended and I will be better.”
The PGA Tour said, “As he expressed after his round, we agree that Justin’s comment was unacceptable.”
What did Thomas say during the 2020 Masters?
Thomas accidentally told TV interviewer Scott Van Pelt “I love you” after messing up his words.
The golfer, who was top after round two at the 2020 Masters, was quizzed on ESPN.
At the end of the interview, Van Pelt told the American golfer to come back and meet CBS’ Jim Nantz for an interview Sunday in the same room at Augusta National.
That would have meant he would have won the Green Jacket.
The Kentuckian then said, “I love you.”
He quickly added: “I would love to.”
Thomas would finish fourth in the tournament.
