Who is James Rose?
Rose is a popular social media influencer and LGBTQ+ activist who often posts on TikTok and Instagram to thousands of followers.
They are also known for their acting careers with an extensive role list including productions The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Never let me go, Newsies, Cabaret and Singin’ in the Rain. .
“I’ve always wanted to be an actor. I like how stories connect people to experiences they don’t have,” Rose explained during an interview with your campus.
“For me, it’s not about the glamor of the industry, the fame or the status of a celebrity; I’ve always wanted to be a storyteller. Being a storyteller kind of gives my body ground while also helping me through joy, pain, and trauma.”


Since joining social media, Rose has more than 488,000 followers on TikTok and over 54,000 on Instagram.
What did James Rose say about Donald Trump’s campaign ads?
In May 2023, Rose revealed to fans on TikTok that Donald Trump had used footage of her and fellow TikToker Dylan Mulvaney in an ad campaign without their consent.
The ad, posted on social media by the twice-impeached former president, included a clip from Mulvaney’s video diary series Girlhood Days and stock footage of a sign reading “All gender toilets,” it said Them.
One narrator then described a “war” against “the global elites.” […] telling you that a woman is a man and a man is a woman.”
“I saw it, then I kind of broke down,” Rose they told their followers on TikTok while holding back tears.
“I was ashamed to speak publicly about my transition, I was lively and fun and loving life, and I thought, ‘Oh, if only I were different, maybe I wouldn’t have let my community down in the way I did. “
“I know in my heart that’s not true,” Rose continued.
“I know they want me and that people like me […] Feeling ashamed of our impermanence.
“That’s a goal, they want to eradicate us, and if they make an example out of people like me and my amazing friend Dylan.” [Mulvaney]they are one step closer to that extinction.”
Rose added, “That’s what I feel more than shame or embarrassment.” […] is that intense passion in my gut that tells me, “The work isn’t over yet, and we have work to do, and my God, we have to do it.”

Rose’s clip has since racked up over 2.1 million views and the comments section has been flooded with comments from fans expressing their support for the star.

Who is Dylan Mulvaney?
Like Rose, Mulvaney is an actress, comedian and influencer who rose to fame on TikTok in 2022 after she began describing her gender transition in daily videos.
Since joining the platform, the University of Cincinnati graduate has gained over 10.7 million followers and over 456 million likes.
Outside of social media, Mulvaney is known for her roles on Awkwardness, The Honest Show and Love Not Likes.
Mulvaney came out as transgender in March 2022, though in a 2023 interview diversityshe explained that she had known since she was a child.
“I came out to my mother [age] 4. I told her, “I’m a girl.” We were very, very religious, so she said, “God doesn’t make mistakes.” But I didn’t know I could switch. “I didn’t realize there were options or resources,” Mulvaney explained.
“The first true non-binary person I came into contact with was ER Fightmaster, who plays a really popular character on Grey’s Anatomy. We met at a comedy improv show at UCB. I was fascinated by them… Just to see someone so confident, that was there.” There’s a certain swagger to it, like, “I know who I am.” That’s what I really wanted to do.


“I’m just really grateful that this was my first person that I met. Transgender people really are some of the most important people to have during a transition because initially I think I was so desperate for cis woman recognition.” I lost sight of the community that really matters that I really want to represent, which is trans people, particularly trans-feminine people,” added Mulvaney.
Though Mulvaney may come from a “very religious” family, she revealed that she and her mom are now “BBFs” who “fight like sisters.”
