On October 19, Netflix added another thriller to its platform called ” The unknown. It stars Joel Edgerton and contains many other wonderful actors. So if you’re looking for something to watch that’s dark and exciting, The unknown is the movie for you!

It is based on the book by Kate Kyriacou The Sting: The undercover operation that caught Daniel Morcombe’s killer and is inspired by the heartbreaking, tragic true crime case of the kidnapping and murder of a 13-year-old boy, Daniel Morcombe.

The film’s story follows an undercover agent who befriends a suspected killer in an unsolved missing persons case in order to gain his trust and get him to confess to the crime.

Netflix cast of The Stranger

As previously mentioned, Golden Globe nominee Joel Edgerton plays the protagonist named Mark. Edgerton is best known for his role as Owen Lars on the series war of stars movies Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. He also had roles in films King Arthur, Zero Dark Thirty, The Great Gatsby, Black mass, Loving and Bright.

BAFTA winner Sean Harris stars alongside Edgerton as suspected murderer Henry Teague. You may recognize Harris from his other roles in the films Prometheus, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, That King, spencer and The Green Knight.
