Who is in the cast of Crimes of the Future?
In his filmmaking career, David Cronenberg has directed over a dozen productions.
For his numerous films he has repeatedly worked with some of the same actors from his previous cinema projects.
Frequent Cronenberg collaborator Viggo Mortensen first teased the film during an interview with GQ.
The actor revealed in an interview: “Yes, we have plans.

“It’s something he wrote a long time ago and he never made it.”
“Now he’s refined it and wants to shoot it. Hopefully we’ll be filming this summer.”
Viggo added, “I would say, without giving away the story, maybe he goes back to his origins a bit.”
“Yes, it’s very interesting. It’s almost like a weird film noir story. It’s disturbing and it’s good I think.”
In April 2021, Viggo was announced as part of the main cast of Crimes of the Future along with Kristen Stewart and Lea Seydoux.
Scott Speedman, Don McKellar, Tanaya Beatty, Yorgos Karamihos, Nadia Litz and Yorgos Pirpassopoulos are also part of the horror film’s cast.
What is the release date?
On April 14, 2022, the official teaser trailer was released, giving moviegoers a preview of what to expect in the film.
The official Crimes of the Future synopsis for fans summarized: “As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations.”
“With his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), prominent performance artist, publicly shows the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances.”
The synopsis continued, “Timlin (Kristen Stewart), a National Organ Registry investigator, obsessively tracks her movements, which uncovers a mysterious group.”

“Her mission – to use Saul’s prominence to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.”
The scary film competes at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, which is scheduled to start on May 17 and end on May 28.
Aside from its place in the Cannes competition, no broad release date has been announced for Crimes of the Future.
Cinema detectives speculate that the horror film will be released sometime after the festival.
