Gisele Shaw was born on October 30, 1988.

The 33-year-old is a professional wrestler from Toledo City, Philippines.

She is currently signed to IMPACT Wrestling.

Shaw has been wrestling for a number of years and only made her debut with IMPACT a few months ago, reports TMZ.

Shaw is well known in England for her work with Progress Wrestling and Revolution Pro Wrestling.

Shaw held the women’s championship in both promotions.

Shaw recently defeated pro wrestler Lady Frost with a corkscrew move.

Her Twitter bio states that she is a “wrestler/actress/stunt worker”.

What did Gisele Shaw say about coming out?

On June 24, 2022, Shaw publicly came forward as transgender, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Shaw said that with this decision she “takes back my power”.

“There really is no perfect time to come out. it’s my journey Now it just felt right to me,” she told the outlet.

“Being of Asian background, being the eldest, there was an unspoken rule that was the expectation that I would take the family name, that I would set an example, that I would take care of my sisters.”

TMZ reports that Shaw’s sisters look up to the wrestler because she’s living her dream “professionally…but also personally.”

Shaw has already received full support from IMPACT Wrestling Manager Scott D’Amore.

“Gisele Shaw is a woman and a valued member of our roster,” D’Amore told the San Francisco Chronicle.

He added that Shaw’s role as a wrestler “will not be compromised or altered in any way by her revealing to the general public that she is transgender.”

“Transphobia is real,” he said. “We can’t pretend otherwise… We have taken steps to ensure Gisele’s social media timeline does not become a forum for hate.”

How has the wrestling community reacted?

On June 23, 2022, the day before Shaw came out, she announced that she was working on a documentary.

She shared a photo of herself on set with the caption: “DOCUMENTARY 🎥”

Many of her followers took to the comments section on her Instagram to share their support.
