Who is former Manhattan Special Assistant Attorney Mark Pomerantz?
Mark Floyd Pomerantz was born on May 3, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York.
The 71-year-old received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College in 1972 and three years later graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, where he earned his JD.
Pomerantz is a US federal attorney and trial attorney specializing in corporate and organized crime and a associate of the New York law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison – which he briefly left in February 2021.
That same year, on February 3, he joined the Manhattan Attorney’s Office to assist in the investigation of former President Donald Trump and his businesses – a position from which he resigned in February 2022.


Previously, Pomerantz headed the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York from 1997 to 1999 before moving into private practice.
Where is Mark Pomerantz now?
In April 2022, Bloomberg Law reported that Pomerantz had rejoined Paul Weiss after resigning from the prosecutor’s office in February.
A spokesman for the law firm confirmed to the outlet that Pomerantz was an advisor in the firm’s legal department.
Ever since Pomerantz was recruited by then- District Attorney Cyrus Vance to help with the long-running investigation, he has been working on his book People vs. Donald Trump: An Inside Account.
The book – which aims to reveal what happened during his year-long stint for the prosecutor’s office – is scheduled for release on February 7, 2023.

“Sunday, former Manhattan Special Assistant Prosecutor Mark Pomerantz speaks in his first television interview after abruptly resigning a year ago,” 60 Minutes wrote on twitter.
“He says prosecutor Alvin Bragg halted the grand jury investigation of former President Donald Trump into the Pomerantz case.”
Bragg has defended his decision not to charge Trump, saying: “After carefully reviewing all of the evidence from Mr. Pomerantz’s investigation, I came to the same conclusion as several senior prosecutors involved in the case, including those that I had brought in: more work was needed.”
