Who is Elena Arenas? Meet Olivia Dunne’s best friend
Elite gymnast Elena Arenas is on the rise alongside teammate Olivia Dunne. The two are not only “inseparable” best friends, but also conquer the gymnastics scene together in storm.
Dunne and Arenas are always by each other’s side as the best friends recently traveled to Salt Lake City together to compete on behalf of their varsity gymnastics team at LSU.

Who is Elena Arenas?
Elena Makenzie Arenas is a 21-year-old gymnast who was born on August 31, 2001 in Georgia.
Elena is currently a junior at Louisiana State University with a business degree, is a member of the LSU gymnastics team and previously trained at Georgia Elite Gymnastics. She has three siblings named Isabel, Ava and Alex and is the daughter of Pete and Kim Arenas.
Elena comes from an athletic family, with her father, Pete, playing college baseball. While Elena’s mother was also a famous gymnast who won two full NCAA national titles in a row. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Elena competed for Team USA in the 2017 American Classic, stealing a medal for first place in the all-around event.
With the outstanding grade of 9.5, the gymnast set a personal best in the SEC Tresor. In addition, her records show that she has personal bests of 9.95 on the vault, 9.875 on the floor, and 9.825 on the beam. She won the SEC Championships with an amazing 9.95 on her Yurchenko Full.
The dedicated athlete is described by LSU as an “outstanding all-around gymnast.” She is also committed to her studies, being honored with the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2021 and receiving the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2022.
Is Elena Arenas in a relationship?
Yes, Elena is currently in a relationship with LSU baseball pitcher Garrett Edwards.
Edwards is from Louisiana and is also in his junior year. She recently posted a snap of the couple on Instagram for his birthday. In the caption, she wrote: “Happy Birthday to me! celebrating you is so easy, here it is until 21!”
Garrett replied, “Thank you! I love you!” He also returned the favor for her 21st birthday, sharing the touching picture below.
