Born on January 15, 1979, Drew Brees is an American former quarterback from Dallas, Texas.

On March 14, 2021, Drew took to social media to announce his retirement from the NFL.

The pro footballer said via Instagram, “After 20 years as a player in the NFL and 15 years as a Saint, it’s time for me to retire from football.”

The star athlete further shared, “I exhausted myself to the end to give everything I had to the Saints organization, my team and the great city of New Orleans.”

“My goal for the past 15 years has been to give you everything you gave me and more.”

Drew added, “I’m just retiring from playing football, I’m not retiring from New Orleans.”

“It’s not goodbye, it’s a new beginning. Now my real mission in life begins!”

Regarding his retirement from the NFL field, Drew came by The Today Show with another announcement.

On March 15, 2021, he announced to Today that he was accepting a position as a sports analyst for NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

On June 8, 2022, NBC executives announced that the analyst-turned quarterback was leaving the show after one season.

The network’s sports chairman, Pete Bevacqua, told the Associated Press, “This was definitely a lifestyle choice for him, which is totally understandable.”

“The incredible busyness of an NFL career and then really not taking a break at all and jumping straight into both Notre Dame Football and the NFL with us has certainly been a 24/7 effort.”

Nearly a month before the reveal, Drew explained his future career endeavors on Twitter.

On Sunday, May 15, he said: “Despite media speculation about my future this fall, I am currently undecided.”
