Who is Dade Phelan?
Dade Phelan is a real estate developer and Republican Member of the Texas House of Representatives, born September 18, 1975 in Beaumont, Texas.
He began his political career as chairman of the House Affairs Committee and as vice chairman of the Natural Resources Committee.
Dade said he was also a member of the calendar, budget and election committees, as well as the special committee on ports, innovation and infrastructure biography.
In 2021, he defeated Rep. Tony Tinderholt to become the next Speaker of Texas, but several people have since called for his resignation.
In May 2023, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was among those calling for Dade’s resignation after a video of him slurring his speech and struggling to assert himself went viral.
“After much thought, it is with great disappointment that I call for the resignation of Seapker Dade Phelan at the end of this term,” Paxton said in one opinion.
“Texans were dismayed to see him appear as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives in a state of apparent debilitating intoxication.”
Paxton went on to say that Dade’s behavior “had a negative impact on the legislative process” and also “represented a failure to fulfill his duty to the public”.
Dade has not commented on the allegations at this time, but spokeswoman Cait Wittman called Paxton’s statement a “last-ditch effort to save face,” the statement said FoxNews.
Outside of politics, Dade is known for his career as a real estate developer, working in his family’s “fourth generation commercial real estate development company”.

Kim Phelan is not only known for being Dade’s wife, but also for her career as a lawyer.
After earning her JD degree from Texas Tech School of Law, she began practicing law in the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office in 2004.

She then opened her own practice in 2008, focusing on representing children and parents in CPS cases and juvenile delinquents biography.
Outside of Kim’s job, little information is known about her personal life as she often keeps a low profile from the spotlight and social media.
Do you have children together?
Dade and Kim are often busy with their respective careers, but that hasn’t stopped them from starting a family.
Over the years, the couple had four sons: Ford, Mack, Hank, and Luke.
The Phelan family lives together in Southeast Texas and often stays out of the spotlight.
