Brooke Boney was born in Muswellbrook in 1986 and is the eldest of six children.
She first entered the news media as a community volunteer radio station while she was in high school.
Brooke then attended the University of Technology of Sydney, where she studied communications.
Brooke also worked as a newsreader at the ABC radio Network Triple J from 2016 to 2017.
