Who is Babyface Ray?

Babyface Ray (born February 7, 1984) is an American rapper from Detroit, Michigan.

In 2015, Ray gained local prominence thanks to his debut mixtape MIA Season.

He released two more mixtapes and an extended play before his debut studio album FACE was released on January 28, 2022.

Before the year was out, Ray released a second record entitled Mob.

Regarding how he’s handling his music popularity, the hip-hop hitmaker told FADER, “It’s a never-ending thing.

“Once you get to a spot, others behind you may feel that this is the top spot, but you look up.

“You keep going because they’re going to look at you like, ‘What’s next?’

“You could have done the best thing you’ve ever done in your life, but you can’t get stuck in this moment. You have to keep going.”

He added: “Frustrating moments I’ve had in my career have been when I thought it was about time and it’s not working out that way.

“I always say, ‘Look back last year, this time where you were. That’s how you know if you’ve made progress or not.’

“I do that often. It’s crazy to watch me grow into what I am now because I remember when I was just wild.”

When did Ray release his second album Mob?

On December 2, 2022, Ray’s second attempt, Mob, was released in full for listeners.

While promoting his second LP, he said: “FACE has done so well that we haven’t really come across releasing music.

“I told myself I won’t do it. But everyone ran away.

“I heard all the music, so I was like, ‘Let me give them something to wrap up with.’

“On the last album I put out music for the world.

“This album only consists of songs that somehow touch me.”

Ray further explained, “I’m rougher in that regard, but I still have something that speaks to the world.

“This new CD is a book of life. Last year we prepared for FACE.

“Right now we’re a lot bigger and when I say ‘we’ I’m talking about me and my team.”
