What is Jagged film?

The documentary Jagged follows the singer’s life and career and centers around the release of her album Jagged Little Pill.

Directed by Alison Klayman.

It premiered on September 13, 2021 at the Toronoto Film Festival.

Controversy erupted after reports that Morissette was unhappy with the film.

In a statement at the time, Morissette said: “I agreed to take part in a play to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill and was interviewed at a very vulnerable time (during my third postpartum depression during lockdown).

“I was lulled into a false sense of security and her lewd intent was immediately apparent the moment I saw the first cut of the film.

“I knew then that our visions were actually painfully divergent. That wasn’t the story I was ready to tell.

“I’m sitting here now feeling the full impact of having trusted someone who doesn’t deserve to be trusted. I have chosen not to attend events related to this film for two reasons: One is that I am currently touring.

“The other thing is that, not unlike many ‘stories’ and unauthorized biographies that have been out there over the years, contain these implications and facts that are simply not true. Ultimately, while this/my story contains beauty and some elements of accuracy, to be sure, I will not endorse anyone else’s reductive approach to a story that is far too nuanced for them to ever comprehend or tell.
