Who hit a golf ball on the moon?

NASA astronaut Alan Shepard teeed off from the pie in the sky on February 6, 1971.

The rigidity of the suit prevented him from putting all he had into his iconic shots as the ball moved. less than 50 yards–Ch is strong enough to find green at a throw and hit on Earth.

Shepard died in 1998 at the age of 74, but the memory of his otherworldly trip is preserved in NASA lore.

How many people have been to the moon?

Moonwalker is a particularly exclusive club.

Only 12 people have set foot on the surface of the moon.

When is the next manned trip to the moon?

From NASA Artemis Mission II is the next scheduled voyage to take humans near the the moon – but not on it.

The four-man crew will travel into space in the Space Launch System, a rocket propulsion system that will keep the crew traveling at up to 24,500 mph.

The rocket will disassemble after disrupting Earth’s exosphere, and the crew will approach and orbit the moon in a capsule called Orion.

From NASA package of moon exploration program said the Artemis II crew would experience an “Apollo 8 moment,” in which they witnessed “the globe of Earth from afar, serving as the backdrop for the Moon.”

The Artemis III mission, which theoretically takes place in 2025, is the final part of the Artemis program and is billed as the first human moonwalk since 1972.

NASA announced that one of Artemis III’s spacewalkers would make a giant leap for humanity as the first woman to set foot on the moon.

Privatized space travel has skyrocketed in feasibility and media attention since then Jeff BezosBlue origin and Elon Musk‘S SpaceX began to pursue the world beyond our own.

But private space travel has been dominated by untrained citizens like William Shatner and Michael Strahanpeople were tagged on 11-minute rovers in space.

Future missions to the moon will require more astronaut involvement because Apollo 17, the last mission to the moon, had a crew inhabiting space for 17 days.
