Who died in The Woman in the House?

The death of the first character that the audience knows is Lisa. Anna has an obsession with Neil and wants to be with him, but Neil is dating Lisa. After some intense snooping, Anna discovers that Lisa is not who she describes herself to be, so she plans to reveal this information and hopefully break Neil and Lisa. But on an ordinary night drinking heavily and sitting by the window, things take a dark turn when Anna witnesses the murder of Lisa on Neil’s spot.

After talking to the police about Lisa’s murder, the police told Anna that Lisa was not dead and that she was on the plane working as a flight attendant. Anna refuses to believe that Lisa is alive and immediately points to Neil as the killer. She then begins a quest to uncover the truth. The police eventually found Lisa’s body and an investigation was opened.

Although Anna begins to think the others (Buell and Rex) are the killers and not Neil, she always ends up coming back to Neil. We don’t find out who Lisa’s killer is until the final moments of the final episode. After following Buell to Neil’s house, Anna walked through the door and saw Buell on the floor bleeding from his neck. She then realizes that Buell isn’t the killer and immediately thinks Neil is.

Anna hears Emma’s screams and runs to her to find Neil dead and Emma holding a knife. Anna realizes that Emma killed Lisa and Emma confesses to doing so. We find out Emma’s reason for killing Lisa in a flashback. In the flashback, we learn that Emma stabbed Lisa because she refused to buy chocolate bars from her.

Neil makes it to the final episode but is killed in the final moments of the final episode by his own daughter, Emma. Emma slit Neil’s throat, and the reason for killing him was because she was tired of hearing him practice his ventriloquism. Honestly, Neil’s death was the saddest, in my opinion.

Initially, Anna believes Neil killed his wife, Meredith, but it is later revealed in the final episode that Emma killed her mother. After Anna calls Emma a monster for killing Neil, Emma calls her biological mother a monster. Then there’s a flashback, and we see Emma push the pregnant Meredith into the lake, and she drowns. Emma tells Anna that she killed Meredith because she wanted to be an only child, and her mother didn’t ask her first if she wanted a sibling.

Emma’s teacher

Emma’s teacher died after being pushed from the lighthouse during a school field trip. Anna thinks Neil is having an affair with Emma’s teacher and pushes her out of the lighthouse because she will tell the police that he killed Meredith. However, all of this was made up in Anna’s head and really isn’t true. In the final episode, Emma confesses to Anna that she killed her teacher by pushing her away from the lighthouse. Emma gave no reason to kill her teacher.

After confessing to all the murders, Emma intends to kill Anna and turn everything on her. Anna and Emma argued for a while in Neil’s house, and just as Emma was about to stab Anna with a knife, Anna stabbed Emma with the sharp edge of a broken casserole dish. Emma died instantly.

How did Anna’s daughter die in The Woman in the House?

In episode 1, we find out that Anna is divorced from Douglas and their daughter, Elizabeth, is dead, but we don’t know how she died until episode 2. In episode 2, Anna is having One phone call with his therapist, and he told her that talking about what happened to Elizabeth might help her overcome her ombrophobia. Then we see a flashback to the day Elizabeth died.

In the flashback, Elizabeth will be with Douglas going to work since “Put your daughter to work.” Douglas is an FBI forensic psychiatrist and specializes in serial killers, so he and Elizabeth walk into a room with a serial killer who has killed and eaten at least 30 people.

Just before the assessment began, the warden entered the room, asking to speak to Douglas to discuss an urgent matter. Douglas walked out of the room, the guards closed the door and accidentally locked them outside the room, leaving Elizabeth in the room with the serial killer.

We later found out from Detective Lane that the serial killer ate Elizabeth. Elizabeth’s murder ruined Anna and Douglas’ marriage and was the cause of their divorce. Because it rained the day Elizabeth died, Anna began to struggle with ombrophobia. She blamed herself for killing her daughter.
