They’ve made several sacrifices along the way and would do anything to help their son succeed, including a last-minute 13-hour road trip to Nashville, Tennessee.
After arriving in New Jersey, his connecting flight to Nashville had to be canceled due to weather problems. So his family got into a minivan and drove 13 hours to make sure he got to the draft on time.

“When we were playing Winnipeg, we did a couple of 14 hour bus rides overnight. I definitely feel sorry for him and hope he’s still in bed now.”
This isn’t the first time Leo has faced travel difficulties. Just a few weeks earlier, during the Stanley Cup finals in Las Vegas, Adam Fantilli revealed that he had problems with his luggage.
“When he went to Las Vegas, I knew he was busy there with his luggage and whatever was going there,” Fantilli explained via The Associated Press.
“Obviously he had to drive from New York to get here. I think he’s sleeping right now. Yes, I mean I feel for him.”
Due to the travel accident, Leo missed an appearance at the youth clinic and a session with reporters, but luckily his parents were able to take him to the Bridgestone Arena for his big day.
