Katie Meyer was the daughter and middle child of Steven and Gina.

The Meyer family is very private, so not much is known about their personal life.

According to Gossip Next Door, Steven, 55, is said to be a writer while Gina, 52, occupation is unknown.

However, Katie is known to have two sisters, Samantha, 24, and Siena, 15.

Katie’s parents admitted they are “heartbroken” and struggling to understand what happened to their daughter inside one Interview with Todayaired on Friday.

Wearing her daughter’s cardinal red sweatshirt during the interview, Katie’s mum said: “I know it’s going to sound crazy, but any mother will understand, but if you smell it, it smells her, it smells like Katie, just her smell.

“I wear it because I just feel like I want to be close to her.”

Katie’s mum also said: “The last few days have been like a parent’s worst nightmare and you don’t wake up from it. So it’s just awful.”

She was a senior with a major in International Relations and a minor in History.

What was Katie’s cause of death?

Katie was sadly found dead on campus on Wednesday March 2nd, 2022.

On Friday, following further investigation, the death was “self-inflicted” and police have launched a full investigation, The Sun can confirm.

Stanford Athletic Director, Bernard Muir, and Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Susie Brubaker-Cole, shared in a statement: “Katie was extraordinarily committed to everything and everyone in her world.

“Her friends describe her as a larger-than-life team player in everything she does, from choosing an academic discipline, which she said changed my perspective on the world and the very important challenges we face together The passion that brought her to the Cardinal women’s soccer program and women’s sports in general.”

They continued, “Katie was hard fought, making two crucial saves in the penalty shootout against North Carolina to help Stanford win their third NCAA women’s soccer championship in 2019.

“Katie has been a bright shining light to so many in the field and in our community.”
