Gwen Shamblin Lara has two children – Michael Shamblin and Elizabeth Hannah – with her first husband David Shamblin.

Gwen was married to David Shamblin from 1978 to 2018.

She would then tie the knot with Joe Lara, who also tragically died in the plane crash.

Gwen Shamblin Lara was a Christian nutrition guru who founded the Tennessee-based Remnant Fellowship Church in 1999.

The light aircraft carrying the seven people was reportedly headed for Palm Beach International Airport in Florida.

The plane was registered to JL&GL Productions LP, which the Laras owned jointly, according to the WTVF.

Gwen’s daughter Elizabeth reportedly texted members of the Remnant church asking for prayers after the crash.

She said the plane had to crash “for a controlled, quick landing,” according to the outlet.

Hannah also said the Laras were on the plane with other church leaders, including her own husband, Brandon.

“More information will follow, but pray – and be at peace,” Hannah’s message continues.

“GOD IS IN CONTROL, and we will not stop pushing this church to do WHAT GOD WANTS.”

Elizabeth wrote on the Remnant website that she and Brandon married in 2003.

“Our precious children are Grace, Gweneth, Gloria and Charles Grantham,” she wrote in her online bio.

“My family LOVES God and my children LOVE to get on their knees and pray with us every morning and evening.

“All we strive for is to DO the will of God and pass that on to our children…for nothing has blessed us more than learning the BLESSINGS that come from obedience to God!”

She said they helped oversee and direct the youth group at church.

Michael Shamblin, Gwen’s other offspring, has four children with his wife Erin.

Who died in the plane crash?

The seven killed were Brandon Hannah, Gwen and Joe Lara, David L. Martin, Jennifer J. Martin, Jessica Walters and Jonathan Walters.

There were no survivors.

“Our efforts have evolved from a rescue effort to a recovery effort. … We are no longer searching … for living victims at this time,” Rutherford County Fire Chief Joshua Sanders said.
