After Wendy Williams stepped down to host her talk show in November 2021 after various health issues, the star said she was itching to get back to work.
“HOW IS IT GOING? I MISS YOU ALL! As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic. I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that takes longer than expected,” she wrote to her fans via Instagram.
“I’m a woman of a certain age and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair once we all agree I’m ready.
“I love spending my mornings with all of you and I’m doing whatever I can to get back to work, but right now Wendy needs to focus on Wendy. I love you because you are watching.”
Williams has had a tough few months following a Covid-19 diagnosis and ongoing health issues.
A source exclusively told The Sun that the process of finding a replacement for Wendy, who recently bought a penthouse in New York amid all her health struggles, has been difficult.
“Wendy remains under medical supervision and meets daily with her medical team. She is making progress but is suffering serious complications as a direct result of Graves’ disease and her thyroid condition.”
The source added, “Wendy is a valued and loyal member of the Debmar Mercury family and has been for 12 years.”
