JUST recently the name Andrew Tate might not have meant anything to most people – but now he’s all over the internet.
And as his social media following grows, so does the intrigue surrounding the self-confessed billionaire – but where is he from? And where does he live now? Here’s everything you need to know.
Where is Andrew Tate from?
Andrew Tate was born in December 1986 in the city of Washington DC in the United States.
His father, Emory Andrew Tate Jr. – was American International chess champion.
Notably, he was called “the absolute pioneer of African-American chess” by the first black chess grandmaster, Maurice Ashley, and learned the game as a child.
However, as a young child, his mother decided to return to England – with Tate and his siblings Janine and Tristan.
The single mum raised her children on a council estate in Luton, London – where she worked as a catering assistant.
During his childhood in Luton, Tate endured a lot of teasing and bullying due to his accent, which many describe as different because he lived in different countries.
Where does Andrew Tate live now?
Tate currently resides in Romania.
In the podcast “The Fellas” he explained why he decided to move to Europe.
He said: “Something about the western world really annoys me. I don’t feel comfortable here.
“I don’t like how it works and works. I think they are the most corrupt, disgusting, degraded societies in the world.
“There is nothing left but money and the company’s agenda. And I like living in countries where, on the one hand, there is some kind of moral fiber beyond the dollar, and on the other hand, I like living in countries where corruption is accessible to everyone.”
He then went on to share how he chose to live in a society where his power, influence and power are not bound by laws he disagrees with – a topic he takes to social media a lot openly discussed.
