Where are the cast of Home Alone now?

One of the most successful holiday films by All time must be home alone.

The 1990 Christmas classic grossed $285.8 million in the US and Canada alone.

Home Alone propelled a then-unknown child actor, Macaulay Culkin, into one of the biggest stars on Earth and helped his co-stars land even more roles.

The film’s success led to another sequel starring Macaulay, with the cast of the first film also reprising their roles.

There were four other films – albeit less successful – with different leading actors.

It’s been well over three decades since the original released, so let’s see what the cast has up to date.

MACAULAY CULKIN

After the smash hit of Home Alone, the then 10-year-old Macaulay was one of the most sought-after actors, taking roles in other films such as My Girl, The Good Son, The Pagemaster, Richie Rich and even worked with Michael Jackson.

After tying the knot with Rachel Miner at the age of 18 and splitting in 2002, the actor was seen less and less in roles, eventually dating Mila Kunis for eight years in a romance they kept private.

Macaulay found himself in the spotlight again in 2017 when he started dating Disney actress Brenda Song – the couple would welcome a son, Dakota, in April 2021.

CATHERINE O’HARA

The veteran actress was no stranger to her role in Home Alone, having appeared in numerous films including the classic Michael Keaton film Beetlejuice.

However, many more roles soon followed, including Wyatt Earp, Best in Show, Orange County and A Mighty Wind.

Catherine then landed a role as Moira Rose on the critically acclaimed series Schitt’s Creek, which ended up earning her an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress.

He has been married to Bo Welch since 1992 and they share two children.

JOE PESCI

The legendary actor’s comedic turn as Harry in Home Alone came as a shock to many, given that just two months earlier he had played the vicious and violent Tommy DeVito in Goodfellas – which earned him an Oscar.

However, Joe tried his hand at comedy again with My Cousin Vinny, Lethal Weapon 3 and the sequel Home Alone before returning to his roots with Casino.

The star faded from the limelight for a while before making quite the comeback in Martin Scorsese’s c2019 film The Irishman, a role that earned him an Oscar nomination.

Joe shares one child with his ex-wife Claudia Haro.

DANIEL STERN

Daniel has quite a lengthy Hollywood resume, credited as the narrator of the series The Wonder Years until 1993.

After Home Alone, he found himself in many roles on the big and small screen, with pit stops on Hey Arnold! Family Guy, Workaholics and Angie Tribeca.

Most recently, he has a regular role on Saturday Night Live comic Aidy Bryant’s series Shrill.

Daniel shares three children with his wife Laure Mattos.

KIERAN CULKIN

While Macaulay’s younger brother landed his debut role in Home Alone, he continued acting and appeared in other notable films including Father of the Bride and its sequel, She’s All That, The Cider House Rules ‘ and ‘Iggy Goes Down’.

Kieran can now be seen on the popular HBO series Succession, which has garnered him multiple award nominations.

JOHANNES LISTENS

John had quite a long film résumé prior to the 1990 family film, and it only got longer after that.

He appeared in various films including The Pelican Brief, Snake Eyes, Pollock, and also landed a role in The Sopranos.

Sadly, John passed away in 2017 at the age of 71 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He is survived by his three children.

DEVIN RATRAY

While he will also be known for playing Buzz on Home Alone, Devin has continued to land roles in everything from The Prince and Me to Hustlers.

He also reprized his classic role in 2021’s Home Sweet Home Alone.

JOHN’S CANDY

The iconic comedian was already a household name before Home Alone came out, with appearances in everything from Little Shop of Horrors, Spaceballs and Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

John appeared in other notable films after the 1990 classic, but his final role was Canadian Bacon when he died of a heart attack in 1994. He was 43 years old.

He leaves behind two children, whom he shared with his wife, Rosemary Margaret Hobor.
