Where are now 7 of Nanny McPhee’s child stars – from shock death while jogging to becoming a TikTok star and dating Elon Musk’s ex
It’s hard to believe it’s been 18 years since Nanny McPhee.
Starring Emma Thompson as a bewitched nanny with magical powers, the sinfully charming film has become a cult classic loved by children and adults alike.
Nanny McPhee’s mission is to rule seven naughty children after their widowed father, Cedric Brown – played by Colin Firth – achieves rupture.
Here we take a look at where the child actors who played the Brown kids are now.
Raphael Coleman Eric
Sneaky Eric was played by then 10-year-old Raphael Coleman.
He then starred in the 2009 horror film It’s Alive and won Best Young Actor at the 2010 British Independent Film Festival.
He gave up acting and studied zoology at the University of Manchester.
Tragically, he died in February 2020 at the age of 25 after collapsing from heart failure while jogging on a trip.
He was reportedly exercising “as part of a training program to stop poaching”.
Raphael was a passionate climate activist and a vocal member of Extinction Rebellion, where he went by the name Iggy Fox and controlled his social media.
On his website, he described himself as “a zoology grad in his 20s traveling the world on a tight budget, working with wildlife and exploring wilderness.”
She played Chrissy in Nanny McPhee, but Holly is just as famous for her recurring role as the creepy Milly in The Story of Tracy Beaker.
The daughter of former actress Claire Toeman later starred in Teensville on the BBC about the Jewish Bar Mitzvah celebration.
The glamorous 25-year-old studied art at Central St Martins in London, specializing in sculpture but later decided it wasn’t for her.
She’s now keen on pursuing writing — and is also a TikTok star with 36,000 followers, where she pokes fun at her acting career as a “one-hit wonder.”
Jennifer Rae Daykin – Liliana
Sweet Lily Brown, who told Nanny McPhee her name was Knickers O’Muffin, is the bookworm of the family.
She was played by Jennifer Rae Daykin, now 28, who has seemingly stepped out of the limelight.
She appeared on The Catherine Tate Show as Chloe and in a short film in 2006 and studied drama at Loughborough University.
Jennifer currently works as an operations manager at a VR company and shares snaps of herself enjoying music festivals and walking the dog on Instagram.
Chrissy’s sweet twin brother, Sebastian, was played by Samuel Honywood – who is totally unrecognizable these days.
He had a few more roles in TV movies but seems to have left acting behind.
Samuel, 26, studied property management at Oxford Brookes University before taking time off to travel and has been sharing photos from his trip to Thailand on social media.
He has also dabbled in DJing, using his last name as a nickname.
According to his Linkedin profile, Samuel works as an appraiser for The Office Group, a company that manages workspaces in the UK and Germany.
After playing Tora, Eliza has continued acting and has had a number of film and television appearances.
She landed her first role in 2002 at the age of nine in the West End production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
After Nanny McPhee, she appeared in the sitcom Plebs opposite Friday Night Dinner star Tom Rosenthal, Broadchurch, Grantchester and Dynasty, and starred in MTV’s Sweet/Vicious.
Eliza, now 30, is a singer-songwriter who moved across the pond to Los Angeles.
In November 2022 she released her new EP entitled Late Twenties.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster – Simon
The acting career of Thomas, the most famous of his fellow young Nanny McPhee’s, has gone from strength to strength.
He was already a familiar face, having played the lovely Sam in Love Actually two years earlier in 2003.
Thomas, 32, is actually related to his Love Actually co-star Hugh Grant — they’re second cousins as his great-grandmother and Hugh’s grandmother are sisters.
Roles in Doctor Who, Nowhere Boy, Death of a Superhero, The Last Furlong and Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens followed, and more recent work includes The Queen’s Gambit, Game of Thrones, Wolf Hall and the Maze Runner trilogy.
Its youthful looks make it a hit with the ladies; Thomas dated model Gzi Wisdom before joining Elon Musk’s ex-wife, Talulah Riley, his Pistols co-star.
Thomas is estimated to have a personal fortune of £2.4million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Scene-stealing cutie Baby Aggy, who notoriously blurts out inappropriate phrases like “poop bum,” was played by Zinnia Barnes and her sister Hebe, now 19.
Little is known about the two siblings, and the pair seem to have stayed out of the spotlight ever since.
Both are on Instagram, with Zinnia’s feed mostly consisting of cat pictures and holiday snaps.
Meanwhile, Hebe, who sported a range of different vibrant hair colors including pink and lime green last year, seems to be enjoying trips to galleries, art and being active on TikTok.
