Based on the manga series by Gerard Way, the head of My Chemical Romance, The Umbrella Academy first premiered in February 2019.

The Netflix The original has since been refreshed for a third season, scheduled for release in 2022.

When will season 3 of The Umbrella Academy premiere?

On Sunday, March 13, 2022, Oh Academy showrunner Steve Blackman announced the series’ third season slated for a June 22 release date.

While talking at SXSW in TexasBlackman has revealed an early video of the latest installment.

Featured in the clip is the regular series Elliot page, Robert SheehanAidan Gallagher, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, and Justin H Min.

Season newcomers include Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Genesis Rodriguez, Jake Epstein, Cazzie Davidand Javon “Wanna” Walton.

According to a press release from Netflix, the third season focuses on the conflict between the Sparrow Academy and Umbrella Academy.

The statement read: “Smart, stylish and warm as an iceberg, Sparrows instantly clashed with Umbrellas in a violent confrontation that turned out to be of least interest.”

“Navigation of their own challenges, losses, and surprises – and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity ravaging the Universe (which they may have caused) – now all that What they need to do is convince Dad’s new and possibly better family to help them right what they came to do wrong,” the statement continued.

What is Umbrella Academy?

Based on the manga by Gerard WayThe Umbrella Academy is an exclusive Netflix superhero television show.

The series revolves around a family of adopted superheroes who come together to try to understand the mysterious death of their father amid the threat of the apocalypse.

At the beginning of the story, various women – who were not pregnant before – give birth all over the world; all at noon on October 1, 1989.

The seven children were adopted by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who trained them into Umbrella Academy.

Season one focuses on the present day, following the lives of the siblings as they learn about the impending apocalypse and share the lives of their adoptive father together.

The second part follows the family as they travel back in time to the 1960s.

Who is Gerard Way?

Born on April 9, 1977, Gerard Way is a musician and comic book author.

Although primarily known for his work as the lead vocalist and co-founder of My Chemistry LoveGerard also studied fine art at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

My Chem was active from 2001 to 2013, and will reunite in 2019.

The band will touring throughout 2022.

Gerard also helped co-create and write the comic book series The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.

He is the co-founder of DC Comics imprint Young Animal, and helped create Peni Parker – an alternate version of Spiderman.
