On May 2, 2022, reports emerged consisting of leaked documents regarding the retrial of Roe v. Wade passed.
The draft bomb documents were first obtained from Politico.
Written by Judge Samuel Alito, he wrote in the document, “We believe that Roe and Casey must be suspended.”
“It’s time to respect the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the elected representatives of the people.”

Judge Alito added, “Roe was terribly wrong from the start. His reasoning was exceptionally weak and the decision had damaging consequences.”
“Far from bringing about a national abortion settlement, Roe and Casey have sparked debate and deepened divisions.”
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts confirmed that the leaked reports were indeed true.
In a statement to the press, Chief Justice Roberts said: “To the extent that this betrayal of the Court’s confidential information was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed.”

What is Roe v Wade?
The 1973 judgment of Roe v. Wade ratified the 14th Amendment, declaring access to safe and legal abortion a constitutional right.
The case was heard to decide whether the Texas ban on abortion, which was outright banned except when a woman’s life was in danger, was constitutional.
The Supreme Court voted 7-2 in favor of abortion rights.
It states that women have a right to privacy, meaning it is up to them to decide whether to continue their pregnancy.
It also divided the pregnancy into three trimesters, stating that the first three months are entirely at the discretion of the woman.

In the second trimester, countries can regulate abortion in the interests of women’s health.
In the last three months, states can prohibit abortions in the interests of the fetus, provided the pregnancy does not harm the pregnant woman.
