Barbara, who grew up in Culver City, California, where Wheel of Fortune was recorded, sent fans into a frenzy.

Halfway through the game, it was her turn to solve a riddle that ended up saying, “I’m taking some time for myself.”

She guessed an “S” correctly and was confident of solving it since the board was almost ready.

“Take time for me,” she announced.

“She probably didn’t recognize it”

Barbara forgot the word “some” even though it was at the top of the board.

Studio audiences were audibly shocked — and she missed a trip to Costa Rica.

“No, that’s not right,” decided Pat Sajak, 76, and she let out a sad, “No…”

Her rival Cory was so confused by what had happened that he guessed every last letter instead of solving them.

After that, Pat had to clarify the situation.

“Cory was confused because he didn’t understand why Barbara was wrong,” he told the three players.

“She left out the word ‘something,'” Pat admitted. “She probably didn’t realize she did it.”

“Anyway, Cory wins $4200 and he goes to Costa Rica,” Pat added, and Cory looked stunned.

Later, despite the timer ringing, Barbara tried to solve a riddle and let them know it was the next player’s turn – she put her hand over her mouth.

“She left out a fully spelled word”

Fans were left in shambles as one gruffly wrote on Twitter: “This may be the dumbest crew of 3 contestants ever.”

“They should send Barbara to Costa Rica too because if you screw it up on national TV I assume you just want to go into the jungle and stare at toucans,” wrote another.

“Barbara left out a fully spelled out word (“some”) and missed a trip to Costa Rica while trying to solve the puzzle. I feel so sorry for her!” wrote a third.

“The stupidity and confusion of today’s wheel of fortune is blatant,” accused a fourth.

“This poor lady keeps getting the riddle wrong :'(” lamented a fifth.

“Cory sweats trying to solve ‘myself,'” wrote a sixth of the ensuing chaos.

“I’ve never seen two big mistakes that BOTH are warned about!!! Wow,” wrote one more.
