WhatsApp is making a BIG change to the way your text messages work

WHATSAPP can extend the amount of time you have to “destroy” a message.

Currently, you have just over an hour to delete them.

If you don't like the texts that haven't been manually deleted, you can set them to auto-delete

But WhatsApp currently testing a longer delete interval.

According to WhatsApp executives at WABetaInfointerval will soon be tested up to two days.

This means you’ll have more time to decide if you want to pull back a text.

And it’s a great way to make a sensitive message go away without putting too much pressure on someone else’s time.

Of course, WhatsApp can decide to stick with the present moment – or choose something even longer.

WhatsApp is constantly testing new features of the app, and not all of them make it to the general release version.

To cancel a text, simply hold your finger on the message and select Delete For Everyone.

If that doesn’t appear then you can’t delete the message or you need to update WhatsApp.

Remember that this system is not perfect either.

Someone can still take a screenshot or copy your text to record them.

So if you really want to keep something off the internet, consider not posting it – unless you’re messaging someone you completely trust.

You can also use the Disappearing Messages option.

This will automatically delete the text after a selected period of time.

Turning on Automatic Disappearance Notifications works for all live chats.

And either party in the chat can choose the settings.

It won’t change or delete any of your existing chats, so don’t worry about losing old information.

A message will also be displayed warning those in the chat that the messages will be deleted.

This message will tell you how long you have to read the texts before they disappear forever.

All Disappearing Messages remain end-to-end encrypted, just like regular WhatsApp apps.

WhatsApp said: “Living away from family and friends for more than a year has made it clearer than ever that just because we can’t talk face-to-face, it doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice our privacy. their personal relationships”.

“We believe that Disappearing Messages and end-to-end encryption are two key features that define what it means to be a private messaging service today.

“And brings us one step closer to the feel of a face-to-face conversation.”
