What thesis did Kaoru Mitoma study?

Kaoru Mitoma’s thesis has become a frequently searched term on Google as many seek to learn more about the Arsenal target.

Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on bringing the Japan international to the Emirates Stadium after missing Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea – according to 90min.

The 25-year-old has excelled for Brighton since his £4.5million move from Kawasaki Frontale and has netted three goals in 13 Premier League games so far this season.

So, what thesis did Mitoma study? Let’s take a look…

Mitoma thesis

Well, the Brighton No. 22 is clearly a deep thinker, having made an important decision at the age of 18.

Mitoma was offered the chance to play for Kawasaki Frontale after being promoted from the under-18 team but chose to study at the University of Tsukuba instead.

The Kanagawa-born forward completed his thesis on dribbling at the University of Tsukuba before agreeing to sign a professional contract with Kawasaki Frontale after graduating.

Speaking about his thesis, Mitoma told The Athletic: “It was the easiest subject for me because I love football and dribbling is what I like to do. There were no rules as to how much I should write, but I made progress by analyzing my teammates who were good and not so good dribblers and trying to figure out why that was.

“I have cameras on my teammates’ heads to study where and what they are seeing and how their opponents are looking at them. I’ve learned that the good players don’t look at the ball. They would look ahead, catch the ball without looking at their feet. That was the difference.”

Apparently Mitoma became an expert in writing his thesis as he is now an excellent dribbler in the Premier League.

Brighton No 22 terrorized Liverpool as the Seagulls recorded a 3-0 win over the Reds on Saturday 14 January where Trent Alexander-Arnold in particular endured a very tough afternoon as you can see below.
