It’s fair to say that golf fans have been following Tiger Woods’ every move on his stunning return to Augusta this week.
And the TV coverage of the Masters was the same, with cameras showing the moment Woods paused mid-round to grab a sandwich.
After Louis Oosthuizen withdrew from the competition through injury, Woods and playing partner Joaquin Niemann rattled through the holes after being down by a man.
This meant the pair could take a breather while they waited to tee off on the par 5 13th hole.
Woods used the break in play to hide behind some bushes next to the tee and unwrap a sandwich which he tucked into.
Although it remains unclear whether it was one of Augusta’s famous pimento and cheese sandwiches.
And while fans loved seeing Woods in action again, many felt that watching him eat lunch was a bit of a stretch.
One viewer joked on social media, “Do you really need to show Tiger Woods eating between holes, what’s next, film him going to the bathroom?”
Meanwhile, another said: “The Masters literally parted ways with the boys in concours putting to show Tiger Woods, +2, eating a sandwich.”
And a third added: “How many golfers on the course? And yet we watch Tiger Woods eat a sandwich. Can we see the gulf please?”

The sandwich break clearly worked, however, as Woods screwed both the 13th and 14th holes immediately after his pit stop.
In a stunning first round in a PGA event since the 2020 Masters on Thursday, Woods scored 71 points – one under par – in his first round.
But four bogeys in his first five holes of his second round stymied his chances of a stunning sixth green jacket.
Although a strong performance on the back nine – following his sandwich stop – put Woods right back in contention.
