Puberty is pretty much the subject of an animated children’s movie, but Disney and Pixar did not hold back with them latest cartoonsTurn red.

“Pixar flouted any caution to create this daring, fun, and strangely beautiful film that follows a 13-year-old girl’s journey into a land of no return – adulthood,” The Sun’s, Dulcie Pearce, wrote in a review.

The film is directed by Domee Shi and tells the story of Meilin, a 13-year-old Chinese-Canadian girl, trying to please her mother while keeping up with her friends, school, and her changing body – all while falling in love with a boy band her favorite.

Shi is Pixar’s first female solo director, and Turning Red is the studio’s first Asian film, as well as the first Pixar film set in Canada.

Who is the actor of Turning Red?

Meilin Lee is voiced by 16-year-old Rosalie Chiang.

She plays a confident 13-year-old Chinese-Canadian girl who must learn to balance her duties at home with the chaos and hormones of being a young adult.

Priya is voiced by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan20 years old and Miriam is voiced by Ava Morse, 16 years old.

They played Meilin’s best friends; Miriam is cold while Priya is dry.

Ming Lee, voiced by Sandra Oh50.

She plays the traditional and overprotective mother of Meilin in the film.
