What is the Spirit Rangers animated series on Netflix about?

A new fantasy adventure preschool series, spirit ranger, now streaming on Netflix! The newly released family series premiered its 10 episodes on Monday, October 10th. And if you haven’t already checked them out, you must. This show is sure to be a hit with your youngest!

The new Netflix original was created by tribal member Santa Ynez Chumash as well as first California Native showrunner Karissa Valencia. Valencia also serves as the writer of the series. Chris Nee takes on duties as Executive Producer.

Wacinyeya Yracheta as Kodi Skycedar, Isis Celilo Rogers as Summer Skycedar, Talon Proc Alford as Eddy Skycedar, Kimberly Guerrero as Mom Skycedar, John Timothy as Dad Skycedar, Cree Summer as Lizard Deedee, and Shaun Taylor-Corbett are lending their voices to the animated series
Coyote, Wes Studi, Devery Jacobs, and Nyla Rose.

Summary of the Spirit Rangers

spirit ranger is inspired by stories of Native American tribes and the majestic landscapes of America’s national parks. The show explores the adventure and beauty of nature through the eyes of Kodi, Summer and Eddy Skycedar, the Chumash/Cowlitz siblings who share a secret. This trio of kids are “Spirit Rangers” who help protect the land and spirits of the national park they call home in California.

Taking on new perspectives as a grizzly bear cub, a red-tailed hawk and a spunky turtle, Skycedar Children take on every challenge from helping a lost Thunderbird to waking a sleepy sun. And they do it all with courage and compassion. According to Netflix, the preschool series celebrates community, nature and the rich legacy of Native American storytelling.
