What is the new Netflix comedy Metal Lords about?

If you’re looking for a fun comedy to watch this weekend, look no further than Netflix Metal Lords will be released this Friday, April 8th. This R-rated teenage comedy is a hilarious and irreverent new flick directed by Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah’s never-ending playlist) based on a screenplay by DB Weiss von game of Thrones Fame.

The upcoming movie will surely appeal to fans of Nick and Norah’s never-ending playlist (since they share a director and are both musically focused), band slam, raise your voice and Very bad. Jaeden Martell, Isis Hainsworth, Adrian Greensmith, Sufe Bradshaw, Noah Urrea, Analesa Fisher, Michelle Fang, Phelan Davis, Brett Gelman and Joe Manganiello.

Metal Lords‘ Release is only two days away, so we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about the film. Below is the synopsis and more.

Synopsis for Metal Lords

Metal Lords is set in a high school where teenage outcasts Kevin (Jaeden Martell) and Hunter (Adrian Greensmith) are desperate to start a heavy metal band, but it’s hard to start a band with just two guys, and they seem to be the only ones both being whole school who really care about the metal genre. Hunter is a die-hard fan who knows his story inside and out.

All he wants is to win the Battle of the Bands, so he hires his best friend to play the drums. Kevin and Hunter don’t know where to find more band members in a school where nobody cares about Black Sabbath until Kevin overhears Emily (Isis Hainsworth) playing her cello and realizes that she is the answer to all their prayers could be. The ragtag crew must band together to battle teenage angst, parents, hormones and more in order to win the competition and be worshiped like gods.

Rating of the Metal Lords

The film is rated R which means it may not be suitable for children under the age of 17. Scenes may contain sexual innuendo, language, nudity, and drug/alcohol use, which affects all teenagers.

Metal Lords runtime

It’s not too long, just around 1 hour and 37 minutes, which I think is an ideal runtime!

Metal Lords comes to Netflix this Friday, April 8th.
