With only ten airy, fast-paced episodes fakes takes us on a whirlwind ride with Becca (Tong) and Zoe (Baranac) as they begin their criminal enterprise with the help of an acquaintance named Tryst (The 100th star Richard Harmon). But what exactly is fakesand is it based on a true story?

This 10-episode half-hour YA dramedy series follows two best friends as they hop on path over their heads when they start making and selling fake ID cards for their friends and colleagues.

The entire show uses a lot of cheeky fourth wall breaks, and you never really know who’s telling the whole truth. fakes draws heavily on the unreliable narration trope, often featuring wildly different versions of the same event to show how difficult it can be to keep track of who said what and who initiated the entire illegal practice in the first place.
